Freedom to Run is the ability and the action of running on our terms. It’s about truly believing that every breath and every step is a gift as we train and prepare for race day. A critical part of this is running with a heart of gratitude. But it’s easy to take for granted the gifts and blessings of being able to run and move freely.

After a hunting accident left me wondering if I’d run again, I quickly learned how to run with a heart of gratitude. This episode dives into the lessons learned from that experience, and how you can run with a heart of gratitude where you stay focused on the big picture and motivated to enjoy the ability to run.

There are going to be setbacks in life. Stuff will come up. We will miss a few workouts here and there. Injuries will happen. And it’s not “if” those times will come, but when. A common saying is that life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it.
