061: Fueling for Runners | Rachel Davis


Rachel Davis
Rachel Davis has a passion for both running and nutrition. She is fascinated with how our bodies process fuel and how we can optimize nutrition to reach our full physical potential. This combination of passion and fascination led her to study exercise physiology and then nutrition sciences.

Rachel has always been a competitive runner. In college, she ran the 400m hurdles and was a two-time NCAA qualifier with a personal record of 58.76. She has a personal record in the 800m of 2:07.92. But as the demands of research and studies increased, she made the switch to distance running.

Rachel’s first marathon was the 2016 Air Force Marathon where she was the first place overall female. Then she went into the 2017 Boston Marathon and set a new personal record by almost 10 minutes to finish as the 36th overall female. For 2018, she is taking that experience and turning it into motivation for chasing after the 2020 USA Olympic Trials standard of 2:45:00.

She will begin offering nutrition consulting after finishing her doctorate and sports nutrition certification.
